Preamble
This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") describes how the Smart Scalping Life platform (the "Platform") uses cookies and similar technologies. This document forms an integral part of the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use.
1. What cookies are
1.1. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies are used to:
- preserve the state of your session (login to your Account);
- store preferences (language, theme);
- protect against attacks (CSRF tokens);
- secure OAuth procedures.
1.2. Similar technologies referred to in this Policy:
- `localStorage` and `sessionStorage` — built-in browser storage used by JavaScript to cache settings, charts and presets;
- `IndexedDB` — larger-capacity browser storage (used to cache candle data and to optimise loading speed).
2. Categories of cookies used by the Platform
The Platform uses only strictly necessary cookies (strictly necessary cookies). All of these are first-party (set only by the Platform).
| Category | Purpose | Source | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session cookies | Maintain login state after authentication via Google OAuth. Protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). | First-party | Until logout, or up to 30 days |
| OAuth login process cookies | Short-lived cookies that secure the exchange with Google during login. | First-party | Up to 15 minutes |
| Language preference cookie | Stores the user-interface language you have selected (16 languages supported). | First-party | Up to 1 year |
2.1. Specific cookie names, technical attributes and exact lifetimes may change with software updates to the Platform. The current list of cookies set on your device is always available via your browser's developer tools (DevTools → Application → Cookies, or the equivalent panel).
3. What we do not set or use
The Platform does not use:
- third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Yandex.Metrica, Mixpanel, Amplitude and the like);
- advertising cookies (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, retargeting, look-alike audiences);
- behavioural profiling (heat-maps, session recording, fingerprinting);
- third-party trackers on partner domains;
- cross-site tracking;
- advertising networks or data brokers.
Because we do not set cookies that require consent under the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the Platform does not display a cookie-consent banner — none is required for strictly necessary cookies.
4. Browser local storage
The Platform uses localStorage, sessionStorage and (optionally) IndexedDB for:
- saving terminal settings, chart settings, indicator presets;
- caching market data for performance;
- saving widget and panel positions;
- storing temporary drafts (in the Trade Journal, bug reports, etc.);
- ChartBoard, Risk Matrix configuration cache.
These data are stored solely on your device and are not transmitted to the Platform's server, save where you expressly save them to the Account through the relevant features (e.g. settings sync, preset saving).
5. Cookies set by third-party services
When you interact with integrated third-party services, cookies may be set directly by those services, bypassing the Platform:
| Service | When set | Controlled by |
|---|---|---|
| Google OAuth | On login via Google | Google LLC |
| YouTube | When viewing embedded videos (/live streams, archives) | Google LLC |
5.1. The Platform does not control the cookies set by those services and accepts no responsibility for their policies.
5.2. Privacy and cookie policies of third-party services:
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- YouTube: covered by Google's policies.
6. Cookie management
6.1. Through your browser settings
You may at any time:
- inspect the cookies set, via
DevTools(F12) →Application→Cookies; - delete specific cookies or all cookies for the site;
- prevent your browser from accepting new cookies;
- use private-browsing / incognito mode for one-off sessions without saving cookies.
6.2. Consequences of disabling cookies
If you disable cookies:
- session cookies → login and access to protected sections becomes impossible;
- OAuth cookies → the Google login process cannot complete;
- language cookie → the interface language will reset on each visit.
Because all cookies used by the Platform are strictly necessary, disabling them will materially restrict your ability to use the Services.
6.3. Instructions for popular browsers
- Chrome:
Settings→Privacy and security→Cookies and other site data - Firefox:
Settings→Privacy & Security→Cookies and Site Data - Safari:
Preferences→Privacy→Manage Website Data - Edge:
Settings→Cookies and site permissions→Manage and delete cookies and site data
7. Applicable law
7.1. This Policy has been prepared having regard to:
- GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679);
- the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC and national implementations (CNIL France, ICO UK, AEPD Spain and others);
- CCPA / CPRA (for users in California — we do not "sell" data within the meaning of the CCPA);
- other applicable laws.
7.2. Because the Platform uses only strictly necessary cookies, the obligation to obtain active consent (opt-in consent) does not apply in most jurisdictions.
8. Amendments to this Policy
8.1. This Policy may be updated in connection with:
- new functionality on the Platform;
- changes in applicable law;
- changes in third-party integrations.
8.2. Material changes are published with notice and take effect after fourteen (14) days.
